The Wicked Billionaire: Jackie Ashenden

When I started reading this one, I thought that it was the first one. I had to go back into my archive to make sure I wasn't reading the wrong book. I know they were different now, but man are they similar. I really wasn't a huge fan because they were so similar. I usually enjoy these kinds of books, but I'm in a slump, and this book did nothing to get me out of it.

Grace and Lucas made such an interesting couple to me. I didn't particularly like Lucas and how overbearing he was, and Grace annoyed me at times (but most of that was just because of how she reacted to Lucas).

Overall, it was short and easy to read. Some of it I was able to skim without missing anything.

Disciplined by the Duke: Alyson Chase

Sooooo.....
I mean.........

I wasn't a huge fan. This is typically the kind of book I love. But this one just kinda seemed....annoying? I'm not sure, but I just couldn't get into it. It was a quick read, and wasn't outright terrible, just not super great.

Artemis: Andy Weir

Ok, I know this one came out last year, and I got approved for an ARC copy over a year ago, but I never heard anything good from other people who got an ARC copy, so I just kept putting it off.

After finally reading it, I have to say I wasn't super impressed. After The Martian, I had some pretty high expectations, and unfortunately they were not met. I really, really, really wanted to like this book. And there were some really cool parts. I loved all the science and thought that was put into this book, and how it was all explained so that I could understand it. The whole premise of the book is brilliant, and parts of it had me hooked.

But Jazz, the main character, I just could not enjoy her. I read most of the book thinking she was some child genius that was maybe 19 or 20, but I was way off. She is 26, and still acts like a child. So much of her story was from the past, which makes more sense, but she just didn't seem to learn her lesson. She kept making terrible choices that just seemed like someone who is young and inexperienced in the ways of the world would make. Not those of a 26 year old who is living on her own.

Overall, the book wasn't terrible, but it wasn't fantastic either. It didn't blow me away, and the first part drug on forever until any action happened. It was a fairly interesting and quick read after that, but I did feel as though it was a slight waste of time.
