I mean seriously, it the author trying to kill me?



But, the book was pretty awesome.

Logan was amazing, he was sexy, charming, and so protective of Kit. I loved that he took such good care of Kit and was so loyal to his brothers. I loved the family bond that all of the Reed brothers shared, I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. The brothers were so welcoming of Kit and treated her just like family....well, kind of.

Kit bothered me a bit. I understand her need to be all secretive, but it isn't like she was on the run from something big bad and dangerous. I feel like she could have just said what was wrong, she trusted him and he wouldn't have done anything to jeopardize her. I mean, seriously, her name, she couldn't tell him her name? Ugh, it was vexing.

I'm so excited to see how things turn out for this couple. This book is perfect for anyone who loves romance and some cutesy flirting and a little bit of steaminess.

The only honest way to describe how I felt about this book and the conclusion of this series is...



I am so disappointed in the direction this series took. It slowly went downhill, but downhill it did go. This book seemed almost to have been written by a completely different author than the first two. I want the Priscilla from the beginning of the series back!

The story was so overdone that I didn't even want to finish it.

I know this author is capable of so much more than the content this book delivered.

I don't have much else to say, so I won't say it, especially because most of it isn't nice. I will say that I do still love the characters and the couple, but overall this one was a bust.

Lead (Stage Dive #3): Kylie Scott

When I saw that this book was available, and that I had somehow missed the memo; I just...had to happy dance.



This book was the best so far in the series, I loved Jimmy and his character early on in the series, even though he was an ass. I'm glad we got to see behind everything that he put on, and I loved his character development.

The only word I can use to describe Lena is feisty. Tamed by no one, fierce and pretty wild at times, yet was still able to care for Jimmy.

I greatly appreciated Lena's sarcasm and large amount of wit. I absolutely loved it. She had no problem checking him out, joking around with him, or just being generally obnoxious with Jimmy. Whenever they fought I wanted to get some popcorn and settle in for the show; it was always pretty entertaining.



" 'For goodness sake, what do you think Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?' I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I'd sunk so despicably low."

Her stealing Jimmy's shirt was one of the highlights of this book, I don't know why, but it made me laugh so hard. I liked that Lena had no problem giving Jimmy sass back, she was great when working with him. Settling him down, working with him through his problems, even though he didn't want to, and keeping him in line with sobriety and being a dick.

Jimmy grew so much during this book, and I really wished that I could have been in his head, just once. Every time Lena described him, and every time he did something for Lena, I just wanted to get one of his awkward hugs and sigh a little bit.

The ending isn't exactly what I was expecting. I had hoped for more, that maybe it would go a little bit farther, but it just ended. I'm excited for the next book, if only to see more of the characters we have already read about. For some reason, Ben and Lizzy as a couple don't hold the appeal that the rest of the band did.

However, this author is phenomenal, so I know it will have to be no less than awesome.

Trust (Finding Anna, #4): Sherri Hayes

As the series came to a close, I was happy that the author wrapped it up, but as these books are pretty short, I felt that more could have been done. One of the things I would like to know more about was what happened to Anna, I loved getting in her head and knowing just why she reacted the way she did to certain things, it made me all the more proud of her.

We did get into Cal's head for one chapter in this book, and after learning why he disliked Stephan so much, I want to know more. As with all the characters in the series, I want to know about Cal and Jade's relationship, along with Lily and Logan's. But that isn't what this series was about. Plus, if I got into Lily and Logan's heads, while they were just starting out, I think I would want to murder Stephan if I heard about him going anywhere near another girl...but oh well. I will just learn to be happy with what I have.

This series started off so, so well, and I just wasn't happy with what happened to Ian, how Anna and Stephan ended up together, and Stephan's job situation.

Overall, it was definitely worth the read, and I sincerely applaud the author for writing such a fantastic series. It was a great ride, although highly emotional most of the time.

Anna was brilliant to be able to overcome everything she went through, and I respected the shit out of her for standing up and taking back control of her life, especially in this book.

If you are on the fence about any of these books, let me guide you right off and into the pages of an unforgettable series.

Secret Surrender: Priscilla West

Well, I'm glad I had this book downloaded and ready to read, but I am beginning to lose hope that this series will be as good as I hoped. I know that this author can write an amazing book, but this sequel didn't impress me. 

Kristen was whiny and acted like a petulant child most of the time. She complained about Vincent withholding things from her and that she felt invisible or such things the whole time. I was proud of her for dealing with the Ariel fiasco by confronting Vincent head-on and right away, instead of just ignoring it until it couldn't wait any longer, but honey, you held a lot of shit back from Vincent, much more important things than the situation with Ariel.

Although their relationship was kept pretty quiet in this book, and they grew as a couple, I wasn't happy with it. I liked in the first book that Kristen put her career first, but to me it seemed to fall by the wayside in this book, partly due to her stalker, but also because she just didn't give a shit anymore. Sure she still went and met with her boss, and helped him out with some projects, and was professional with Vincent when she needed to be, but it just didn't feel right.

Vincent was great in this book. When Kristen freaked out on him, he told her the truth, and all she had to do was ask...what a thought. I liked the way he stepped up to the plate with Kristen when he needed to, and tried to do everything he could to help her when she needed it...

I loved that Vincent was able to take her into his private life, trusting her to see a more vulnerable side of him...whether or not Kristen actually appreciated that was questionable.

Overall this book just left me a bit...

I'm hoping that the last book takes a turn to get us back on course.

Forbidden Surrender: Priscilla West

I have to give this one 3.5 stars. I liked the romance, it was an easy read, definitely a fun and flirty chick lit book! These books are beginning to all seem the same, billionaire bad-boy that is sexy and falls in love and cares for his woman. But that's ok, they're just my guilty pleasure. I just keep reading them, and this one was actually pretty good. The author left me wanting more, but thankfully I got all three of them through NetGalley.

Vincent seemed like a really fun guy to be around. He was exciting and daring and hot and just did whatever he wanted. And the entire time the two of them were flirting and being cute with deadly and dangerous animals, I just started fangirling a bit.

I really did like this book, but I am getting really sick of every girl in a book having a stalker, I mean...seriously? I really don't think stalkers are that common. I would have liked a bit more background on both Vincent and Kristen, but we didn't get much. I do like that Kristen was such a strong character. She was able to take care of things herself for the most part. She got out of a very bad relationship on her own, although she should have taken some more safety measures.

Kristen was an easy character to like. She wasn't whiny, she just sucked it up and dealt with what life threw at her. She respected herself enough to not immediately throw herself at Vincent, because she put her career first (YOU GO GIRL!). Which totally caused her to gain major points from me.

These books have a lot of potential, I'm excited to see where they go. I would tell anyone who likes the sappy chick lit with a little excitement to definitely read this. It is short, sweet, and overall a good read.

Lover Awakened (BDB #3): J. R. Ward

If I had to summarize this book in one sentence, it would be:



To me, this was the best book in the series even after reading all 12 of them. I know that Zsadist is the typical tortured bad-boy hero, but I just loved him! He was easy to like, and went through actual shit. It was fun to watch him change over the course of a few novels and become more of a person. He cared for Bella, and he had a hard time showing it, but eventually allowed himself to feel, and duh! True love overcame all.

And as for Bella, I liked her. She went through shit with a crazy dick too, and came other the other side messed up. Z was the only one who truly got to her, and was able to help her through her needing. Bella's needing was extremely hot. Literally, Bella's vagina basically set itself on fire in order to get pregnant, subsequently letting every male in the close vicinity know that she wanted two or three non-stop days of hot sex.

After that happened, the book just got better and better. The tension and love triangle in the book were a bit frustrating, but overall, it was definitely worth the read.

We get a bit more character development for other characters in the series, which turned out to be a nice break at times from the love frustration. I am personally hoping for another book about this couple just because they are my favorite. I liked their passion, and love for each other. I liked that Z made sure he knew what he wanted before doing anything, and was there for Bella even though she didn't know.

I would recommend this one to any romance novel junkie out there, I highly anticipate that you will like it.

Truly, Madly, Deadly: Hannah Jayne

That synopsis though...

SO creepy!

The book itself was decent, I had my suspect and it turned out I was right, but the author did a good job of making me question myself. I liked the twists and turns of never knowing who was going to turn up dead next, even though you can almost predict it.

However, I felt as though there wasn't a lot of backstory for most of the book. Things just seemed to happen randomly, but the main character acted as if she had a history with everyone. Unfortunately, the reader doesn't get any idea of this history.

I enjoyed the romance, it wasn't too overdone, and it was very much a typical high school relationship, with a bit of maturity. Sawyer and Cooper were cute together....but he just showed up out of nowhere, a new guy in the school, and his introduction to the story was a tad awkward. Sawyer was a little dramatic when dealing with her dad's new relationship, but at the same time, it was a realistic reaction from a high schooler.

Chloe, Sawyer's best friend was interesting, she seemed to have more drama than Sawyer, and that is saying something. I didn't care for her too much. She drug Sawyer everywhere with her, but was still always there for Sawyer. Logan, who has a locker below Sawyer, was adorable. He was a guy with a crush that would never amount to anything, but still kept on trying. I really did like him, and I wish we would have been given more information about the relationship between Sawyer and Logan.

Overall, a good book, but I am glad I was able to get it through my library, not exactly something I would have paid for.
