One: I first saw this on NetGalley and requested it when it was under the title Loving the Enemy.
Two: I WAS HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS WAS A PREQUEL WHEN I REQUESTED IT. It wasn't listed in the description until the title changed that this was, in fact, a prequel.
Therefore, I was so freaking confused during this book that I didn't really know what was going on.
But despite that, I still liked it!
For some reason, I liked that the characters were all broody and mysterious and honestly, assholes. I usually don't enjoy that, plus all the angst (seriously, angst pisses me off to no end), but this author managed to pull it off in a way that didn't annoy me, but rather kept me on edge, wanting to know what happened next.
I'm happy to say that I will definitely be reading the rest of these books (although it may take me some time...), so if you like this series, or this author, read it!
